Manage your saved recordings, organize with folders, and access your analysis history.
Looking for device management?
The dashboard is your central hub for managing COMTRADE recordings stored in Detego. It displays every recording you have uploaded, organized as a searchable, sortable table with folder-based grouping.
From the dashboard you can:
12 recording(s) in your library · 2 folder(s)
Substation Alpha
132kV intake
Feeder Faults

Recordings are saved automatically when you upload COMTRADE files while signed in. The save process works as follows:
.cfg + .dat (with optional .hdr, .inf) or .cff files into the viewerIf you upload multiple file sets at once (bulk upload), each set is saved as a separate recording. After saving, Detego redirects you to the dashboard and optionally prompts you to assign the new recordings to a folder.
Newly uploaded recordings are highlighted with a New badge and a subtle glow animation so you can spot them instantly. The badge clears automatically after you open the recording in the viewer.

Folders let you group related recordings together. Common use cases include grouping by substation, feeder, project, or incident.
Click the New Folder button in the dashboard header (or the dashed quick-add card in the folder row). A modal appears where you can set:
Folders appear as a horizontally scrollable row of cards above the recordings table. Each card shows the folder name, description, recording count, and the number of distinct date labels inside.
Click a folder card to open its detail view, which lists only the recordings inside that folder. Right-click a folder card (or use the overflow menu inside the detail view) to access Edit Folder and Delete Folder actions.
There are several ways to add recordings to a folder:
When adding recordings to a folder, you are optionally asked to assign a date label. Date labels group recordings within a folder by date (e.g., "2026-02-28"), creating collapsible sub-sections in the folder detail view. You can pick an existing date or create a new one.
Each recording row provides several actions, visible on hover:
| Action | Description |
|---|---|
| Open in viewer | Navigates to /viewer?recording=ID to load the full waveform viewer with all channels and previously computed signals |
| AI Analysis | Launches the AI analysis engine for this recording (amber sparkle icon). Requires early access |
| Add to Folder | Opens the folder assignment modal for this specific recording |
| Link to Device | Opens a device picker to associate this recording with a device. Copies device settings (CT/VT ratios, impedance) as defaults |
| Rename | Click the pencil icon (appears on hover next to the filename) to edit the recording name inline. Press Enter to save or Escape to cancel |
| Delete | Permanently removes the recording and its files from cloud storage. You are asked to confirm before deletion |
Select multiple recordings using the checkboxes on the left side of each row. A bulk action bar appears at the top showing:
The toolbar above the recordings table offers three controls:
The search field performs full-text matching across four fields: station name, device ID, filename, and notes. Results update instantly as you type.
The filter dropdown lets you narrow the list by analysis status:
The sort dropdown controls the row ordering:
The Group by Date toggle button groups ungrouped recordings into collapsible sections based on their recording timestamp date. This is useful for quickly seeing which recordings belong to the same event or day without creating permanent folders.
